Chief of Staff

Marilyn began her career journey at Accenture’s Federal Systems Integration Consulting division. She later was recruited to join Google’s Legal Investigations team and served as a shared resource between Google’s Legal Online Operations, Global Learning Design, and Google Apps for Education departments. During her four years working at Google, she worked on several education/learning initiatives focused on instructional design, global emerging market research, K-12 governmental partnerships, and nonprofit program management for various efforts including Google Apps for Education, YouTube Edu, Google.org Rise Awards, and Computer Science CS First.

She is a former 2017 Education Pioneers Management Fellow and focused on district level strategic planning, talent management, diversity programming, and special projects for a Houston based charter school district. Marilyn most recently served as a TX/LA Regional Director of School Partnerships at Kokua Education responsible for building K-12 executive partnerships, growth landscape analysis, and partner retention-risk mitigation strategy.

Marilyn received her B.A. from Howard University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. A self-proclaimed “super-transplant” and native of Detroit, MI, she has lived in several cities coast-to-coast and currently resides in Houston, TX. She is a proud member of both Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
