Chief of Staff

Katherine has over 20 years of experience managing and leading change efforts for nonprofit and for-profit organizations including Teach For America, Kamehameha Schools and Hawaiian Airlines. Her areas of expertise include strategy, planning, process improvement, project management, and human resources.

Most recently, Katherine directed special projects for the human resources team at Hawaiian Airlines in strategy, organizational design, compensation, and administration. Prior to Hawaiian Airlines, Katherine worked in education for over a decade in both strategy and operations, including leading transformation projects for Kamehameha Schools and leading teams in human resources at Teach for America.

Her other work experience also includes serving as a Chief Operating Officer for the Women’s Campaign Fund; as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company; and as an English as a Second Language teacher.

In addition to working with vChief, Katherine operates an independent consulting practice based in Honolulu focused on organizational design and organizational effectiveness. She earned her MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University, her MPA from the School of International and Public Affairs at Princeton University and bachelor’s degree from Duke University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
