Chief of Staff
Karen brings over a decade of experience setting strategy, building partnerships, and leading operations for nonprofits and corporations. She is passionate about building effective and sustainable organizations, with a deep belief in a data-driven and people-centered approach.
Most recently, Karen worked at a venture philanthropy firm, A Better Chicago, managing a portfolio of investments. Prior to that, she led various teams at Teach For America including those responsible for regional strategy and finance, talent and operations, and external partnerships and communication. Earlier in her career, she managed talent acquisition in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Karen has led teams, managed cross-functional work, and served as a strategic thought partner to executives.
Karen earned her Master of Nonprofit Management from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. She holds a Senior Certified Professional certification from the Society of Human Resource Management.
