Elizabeth Z.

Chief of Staff

Elizabeth has over 20 years of professional and leadership experience in a diversity of sectors, including non-profit, education, and policy.

Most recently, Elizabeth led the launch and development of a new department at New Leaders, focused on engaging and providing ongoing support for a community of the organization’s nearly 3000 alumni. Previously, Elizabeth served as Chief of Staff at Educators for Excellence and Teach For America. She also spent time in alumni-focused work at Teach For America, both at the local and national level.

Elizabeth brings expertise in strategic planning and implementation, relationship and client management, communications, event planning and execution, and Board development and management. In addition, she is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion-focused work, and especially enjoys launching new teams and initiatives.

Elizabeth earned her BA from Georgetown University and her PhD from The Ohio State University. She lives in Kentucky with her 3 young children and husband, and loves reading, wine, and her Peloton in equal measure.
