We’d like to introduce you to one of our newest business partners, Kind Capital. Kind Capital is an impact investing firm seeking, through the various areas of its business, to “connect capital to impact.”

Kind Capital’s Founder and CEO John Duong spent over a decade at Lumina Impact Ventures, the impact investing arm of Lumina Foundation, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation before launching Kind Capital. John is joined at Kind Capital by his partners, Joy Profet, Marc Kushner and Thomas Hornbeck, and an experienced, mission-driven team with deep operating, financial, investing and philanthropy experience. Kind Capital serves a broad set of stakeholders through its various business areas:

Strategic Advisory

Kind Capital aims to set itself apart from other advisors in the impact investing space. The firm offers a full suite of advisory services to investors, grantmakers and entrepreneurs. It has extensive experience with both nonprofit and for-profit businesses and maintains strong relationships with leaders at major foundations, impact funds, CDFIs and other organizations across the ecosystem.

Shared Services (“Geeksfinder”)

Kind Capital offers fractional executive leadership (e.g., CFO, COO, CMO, CTO) and outsourced operational capabilities (e.g., managed IT services, technology and software development) to social enterprises seeking cost-effective, interim human capital solutions. Kind Capital has access to a large pipeline of experienced executives and operators that partner with Kind Capital as part of its “Geeksfinder” shared services platform. This is where vChief fits in with Kind Capital, as we are offering fractional Chiefs of Staff to support the entrepreneurs that Kind Capital serves.

Impact Deals Marketplace (“Kapital Connect”)

Kind Capital will also offer an online marketplace for investors and grantmakers looking to connect their capital to impactful entrepreneurs and social ventures (and vice versa). Here funders will be able to screen for mission-aligned investment opportunities, and early-stage entrepreneurs will be able to find the right partners to fuel their growth.

Venture Studio (“Katalyst”)

Kind Capital partners with promising entrepreneurs and early-stage social ventures as part of its Katalyst venture studio. By leveraging its deep operational expertise and broad network, Kind Capital provides each of the so-called Entrepreneurs-in-Residence who join Katalyst with the resources and opportunities to succeed and grow.

Impact Fund

Kind Capital is currently in the process of raising capital for its impact fund. The fund will invest in various sectors, including Education Technology, Healthcare Services, Agriculture/Sustainability and FinTech. The Kind Capital executives that will manage the fund are experienced investors with track records in both traditional and impact investing, across all asset classes. Their experience spans both direct investments and investments into other funds as limited partners.

Kind Capital’s mission is to drive positive impact on a billion vulnerable lives…prudently, conscientiously, sustainably and profitably. To deliver on that mission, Kind Capital leverages the full spectrum of impact investing tools in collaboration with leading stakeholder partners across the ecosystem to drive scalable, sustainable impact.
