Benefits of Fractional Hiring for Interim Roles

Fill Vacancies Fast

Meet candidates within one week and onboard your experienced short-term executive within two weeks. We have more than 400 candidates ready to fill immediate vacancies.

Minimize the Risk of a Bad Hire

Hiring an interim executive to keep critical tasks moving gives you the time to make a strategic and thoughtful hire, and helps you avoid the costly mistake of a mis-hire.

Maximize Your Budget

A fractional executive can provide effective leadership that drives your organization forward with less-than-full-time support, helping you stretch your budget and only pay for the level of support you need.

On-Demand, Flexible Talent That Meets Your Needs

Leadership Transitions

Bridge the gap until you find the right person for a permanent hire. Hiring an interim leader allows adequate time for a thorough executive search process and/or organizational restructuring. An interim executive can also work closely with your leadership team and board members to develop a succession plan.

Leave of Absence

Expand the capacity of your leadership team when a key leader needs to take a leave of absence. Backfill the absent leader’s role directly or augment the team with an agile changemaker who provides operational support across several roles.

Special Initiatives

Ensure the success of a new product launch, office relocation, certification process, major publicity campaign, or other one-time project by bringing in interim talent with relevant experience.

Organizational Pivots

Foster collaboration, connect siloed work streams, and facilitate cross-departmental efforts when pivoting to a new service area, target audience, or sales channel by hiring an interim experienced leader.

Specialized Expertise

Overcome knowledge gaps and gain a fresh perspective with an interim executive who provides industry-specific expertise and experience.

Additionally, more than 83 percent of our talent pool use feminine or gender neutral pronouns and over 30 percent identify as a person of color.

Senior Leadership Experience

The vast majority of our candidates have at least 9 years of professional experience, and many have held a variety of C-suite positions, making them well qualified to handle the challenges of interim management.

FAQs

Does vChief charge a placement fee?
We charge a refundable placement fee to reflect the initial consultation, careful selection of qualified candidates, access to the vChief Connect Portal, and continuous support throughout the interview process. The placement fee is included on the first invoice, and is refunded for all engagements that continue at least six months.
Can a vChief stay on to help onboard the permanent hire?
Yes. There’s no need to end your interim executive engagement before your new executive has completed onboarding. You can decrease your interim executive’s hours to as few as five hours per week after the permanent leader begins to provide a seamless transition.
Can a fractional executive provide full-time support?

Absolutely. A fractional executive provides month-to-month support that can adapt to your needs. If you need 40 hours a week of support one month, but only 30 hours a week the following month, you can modify your contract. Your vChief will communicate when they have reached the monthly allotment of hours. If you continue to have needs beyond that point and pre-approve additional hours, you will be billed according to your plan’s hourly rate. You can switch to a different hourly plan at any time. Notice must be given by the 15th of the month and the new subscription plan will be effective the 1st of the following month.

What’s the average length of an interim executive engagement?

Most interim executive engagements last three to six months.
